Zarqa: Laboratory tests have confirmed that Salmonella bacteria caused the 138 food poisoning cases reported in the Hashimiyah district of Zarqa Governorate, the Ministry of Health and the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) said Monday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the JFDA stated that one of the restaurant's expatriate workers, who had recently joined the establishment, tested positive for Salmonella. It was also found that this worker was operating without a valid health certificate, raising concerns about the restaurant's adherence to health and safety standards.
The administration further mentioned that it is continuing with legal and administrative procedures against the restaurant as per applicable regulations. This incident has highlighted the importance of stringent health checks and certification to prevent such occurrences in the future.
