Amman: The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) met on Monday with Sudanese Ambassador to Jordan Hassan Dahab to discuss strategies for enhancing economic ties and fostering business relations between the two nations. ACC President Khalil Tawfik emphasized the private sector's ambition to increase trade and investment with Sudan, utilizing Jordan's expertise in commerce, services, logistics, and transportation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Tawfik presented plans to enhance institutional cooperation, including a proposed memorandum of understanding between the ACC and its Sudanese counterpart. He called for the revival of the Jordanian-Sudanese business council to connect business leaders, explore investment opportunities, and support Sudan's economic development and reconstruction.
To promote trade, Tawfik advocated for an updated database on the Sudanese economy and investment landscape, expressing ACC's eagerness to host Sudanese business delegations to explore joint ventures.
The Sudanese ambassador updated on Sudan's situation and affirmed Khartoum's commitment to expanding economic ties with Jordan. He highlighted Sudan's interest in leveraging Jordan's expertise in reconstruction, logistics, digital transformation, urban planning, and medical tourism.
ACC board members suggested creating a targeted list of priority sectors, facilitating direct business-to-business meetings, and exchanging market data to transform opportunities into practical economic partnerships.
