JFDA Mandates Approval for Donated Food Distribution

Amman: The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) has emphasized the importance of obtaining prior approval from their office before any organization, including charitable ones, can provide or distribute food donations. This measure is in place to ensure compliance with established health and safety regulations.

According to Jordan News Agency, the JFDA's recent statement underlines that authorization is necessary to guarantee that food products are managed according to approved standards for distribution, transportation, and storage. The administration is closely monitoring adherence to these regulations and has warned that it will collaborate with the Ministry of Social Development, the General Union of Voluntary Societies, and other relevant bodies to take legal and administrative actions against entities that do not comply.

The JFDA has also urged the public to report any concerns, complaints, or inquiries through their toll-free complaints hotline at 117114, via WhatsApp at 0795632000, or by email at [email protected].
