Coach Praises National Team Performance, Shifts Focus to Algeria Match

Amman: National football team head coach Jamal Sellami expressed pride in his players' performance despite their defeat to Austria, saying the team delivered a strong display and showed its readiness to compete at the highest level during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to Jordan News Agency, Sellami, speaking at the post-match press conference, stated that the players produced an outstanding performance against a strong opponent and successfully executed both their defensive and attacking responsibilities throughout the match. "We have turned the page on the Austria match, and our focus is now on the upcoming games against Algeria and Argentina," Sellami said. "We are counting on our Jordanian supporters, who backed us in the stadium and provided the players with a significant morale boost to perform at their best." The national team delegation is scheduled to return to its base in Portland on Wednesday to continue preparations for its remaining Group J fixtures.
