Aqaba: Zscaler, a cloud-based cybersecurity platform, announced the launch of its first cloud presence in Jordan in collaboration with 35D, the ICT arm of Aqaba Digital Hub (ADH), marking a milestone in the expansion of Jordan's digital infrastructure and cybersecurity capabilities.
According to Jordan News Agency, the announcement was made at Aqaba Digital Hub with the presence of Mohammad Al-Smadi, President of the National Cyber Security Center, along with representatives from the NCSC, Zscaler, and ADH. This initiative introduces the first Zero Trust cloud infrastructure in Jordan, bolstering the Kingdom's status as a regional hub for digital infrastructure and cybersecurity services. The deployment is hosted at ADH's carrier-neutral data center facilities in Aqaba, providing organizations in Jordan and the region access to Zscaler's cloud-based cybersecurity services and enhancing service performance for customers across the Levant and Iraq.
Al-Smadi commented that adopting advanced cybersecurity technologies and modern security architectures, including Zero Trust principles, is a strategic step toward strengthening the resilience of Jordan's national cyberspace and digital ecosystem. This supports the Kingdom's ongoing digital transformation and economy ambitions, aligning with national priorities and future aspirations. He emphasized that these efforts enhance Jordan's position as a leading regional hub for digital infrastructure and advanced technology services.
Saeed Agha, Area Vice President for Emerging Markets - Middle East and Africa at Zscaler, noted that launching Jordan's first Zero Trust cloud infrastructure is a milestone for the company. He stated that the collaboration with Aqaba Digital Hub enables local organizations in the Levant, Egypt, and Iraq to securely adopt AI and cloud technologies while meeting data residency requirements and improving cyber resilience.
