Jordan: Jordan Media Commission (JMC) spokesperson Omar Homsi on Wednesday denied reports circulated on social media alleging the commission has sent text messages to content creators demanding payments.
According to Jordan News Agency, Homsi stated that neither the JMC nor any other government body has sent such messages. He confirmed that the commission had launched an investigation to determine the origin of these fraudulent texts.
Homsi mentioned that the investigation is being conducted in coordination with the National Cybersecurity Center and the Cybercrime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department. Legal action is expected to follow as authorities work to address the issue.
