Civil Defense Teams Successfully Contain Crop and Grass Fires Across Jordan

Amman: Civil Defense Directorate personnel on Monday responded to several fires involving dry grass, crops, and trees across several governorates: Firefighting teams successfully contained the blazes, preventing them from spreading to neighboring areas, with no casualties reported.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) renewed its warning regarding the dangers of lighting fires near dry grass and trees, particularly given the rising temperatures and the rapid rate at which fires can spread under current weather conditions.

The PSD urged citizens to refrain from throwing cigarette butts from vehicles or leaving barbecue fires unattended. It emphasized the necessity of completely extinguishing campfire and barbecue remnants and burying them with soil before leaving any site while also keeping potential ignition sources out of the reach of children.

Furthermore, authorities called on the public to immediately report any signs of fire by calling the unified emergency number (911), reaffirming their full operational readiness to handle various reports around the clock.
