Amman: The Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee on Monday engaged in discussions with Hungarian Ambassador to Jordan, P©ter Gy¶rk¶s Jakab, to explore avenues for enhancing economic and educational cooperation between Jordan and Hungary.
According to Jordan News Agency, MP Haitham Zayadin, chairman of the committee, emphasized the significance of the strong Jordanian-Hungarian relations and the need to build upon this partnership in a way that benefits both nations. During a press release, Zayadin highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in trade, economic, and educational fields, noting the presence of approximately 450 Jordanian students currently pursuing their studies in Hungary, which underscores the robust academic collaboration between the two countries.
Zayadin also underscored the potential for attracting Hungarian investments to Jordan, given the Kingdom's security and stability, and expressed appreciation for Hungary's support of the positions of His Majesty King Abdullah II, particularly concerning the Palestinian issue.
MPs Dima Tahboub and Mohammad Sabayleh advocated for increased support for vocational and technical education for Jordanian students in Hungary to better align their skills with the demands of the labor market. They also called for the transfer of Hungarian expertise to Jordan in areas such as water management, renewable energy, smart agriculture, and the railway sector.
Ambassador P©ter Gy¶rk¶s Jakab highlighted the substantial progress in Jordanian-Hungarian relations across various sectors and praised Jordan's significant role in accommodating waves of refugees despite facing numerous challenges.
