Parliamentary Association, Georgian Envoy Discuss Cooperation

Amman: The Jordanian-Georgian Parliamentary Friendship Association, chaired by MP Hussein Amoush, met with Georgian Ambassador Archil Dzuliashvili to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly parliamentary, tourism, and cultural ties.

According to Jordan News Agency, Amoush emphasized the strength of relations between Jordan and Georgia, advocating for broader cooperation and efforts to address challenges faced by Jordanians residing in Georgia and Jordanian students studying there. He also called for enhancing cultural exchange between the two countries.

Association members, MPs Huda Naffa, Jihad Abawi, Hayel Ayyash, and Ahmad Alimat, highlighted Georgia's progress in various fields and stressed the importance of sharing Jordan's parliamentary experience with the Georgian side. They proposed establishing a direct air route between Jordan and Georgia through the national carrier Royal Jordanian, suggesting this would boost tourism and trade activity and facilitate travel for students and citizens between the two countries.

The Georgian ambassador highlighted the depth and strength of Jordanian-Georgian relations across various fields, emphasizing the importance of enhancing economic and trade cooperation, as well as religious tourism between the two countries. He noted that about 2,500 Jordanian students are studying in Georgia and commended their positive reputation.
