Over 2.6 Million Citizens Activate Digital IDs on Sanad App

Amman: A total of over 2.6 million citizens have so far activated their digital IDs on the Sanad app, including more than 600,000 new users, who have started their digital IDs since the beginning of 2026.

According to Jordan News Agency, a statement issued by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship on Thursday indicated that this number reflects the reliance on digital government services and the increasing trust in the app. The ministry emphasized that this shift aligns with directives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and the follow-up of the National Council for Future Technology, aiming to provide a digital government experience for citizens.

The app has undergone a series of upgrades and improvements recently, focusing on streamlining procedures and expediting access to services. The ministry highlighted the capacity to activate digital IDs directly through the app without needing to visit Sanad service centers as a key service contributing to increased demand. Additional services include changing phone numbers, resetting passwords electronically, and an improved digital document surfing experience.

Furthermore, the upgrades featured enhanced e-passport services, vehicle registration renewal, digital payment, and digital signature services, which boosted the user experience and increased reliance on digital government services. Offline access to documents using fingerprint authentication and linking documents to relevant transactions were also noted as significant improvements.

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship affirmed its continued commitment to developing the Sanad app, which now offers digital services and e-documents within an integrated government system. The ministry noted these services benefit citizens, spare their time and effort, and facilitate transactions both inside and outside the Kingdom.
