Amman: Minister of Transport Nidal Qatamin chaired a meeting at the Land Transport Regulatory Commission to review the sector's progress and assess the requirements of the upcoming phase. During the meeting with the commission's director general Riyad Kharabsheh, along with ministry and commission officials and staff, Qatamin emphasized the necessity of intensifying efforts and enhancing personnel readiness to tackle rapid developments within the sector.
According to Jordan News Agency, the minister pointed out a recent surge in traffic within the Kingdom, attributed to regional conditions, necessitating a flexible and prompt response by relevant authorities to ensure the provision of smooth and efficient services. He advocated for the expansion of modern technology and digital platforms in managing and operating the transport system and stressed the importance of equipping the sector with specialized and qualified staff to elevate performance.
Qatamin proposed the establishment of an independent unit within the Land Transport Regulatory Commission to address public transport complaints, a move aimed at enhancing public trust and ensuring quality service. He noted that providing a better user experience is a priority amid the growing demand for transport services.
In a separate meeting, the minister conferred with Zaha Cultural Center Director Rania Sbaih to discuss the center's pressing transport needs, given its extensive presence across the Kingdom. Qatamin directed support for transport services by the center, which operates about 25 branches across the governorates, and called for suitable transport solutions for children and visitors, thereby bolstering its cultural and community role.
