EuroCham Jordan and EU Ambassador Discuss Strategies to Boost Investment and Trade Ties

Amman: The Board of the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (EuroCham Jordan) recently engaged in a strategic dialogue with EU Ambassador to Jordan Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, focusing on enhancing economic relations and attracting increased investment. This meeting, conducted at EuroCham Jordan's headquarters, aimed to identify and implement mechanisms that would bolster coordination and communication between the Jordanian and European business communities, ultimately seeking to improve the investment climate within the Kingdom.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions covered various key issues of mutual interest, including trade facilitation, preparedness for the Green Deal, and digital transformation efforts, all aimed at boosting Jordan's integration into European markets. EuroCham Jordan Chairman Mohammad Samadi underscored the chamber's dedication to strengthening economic partnerships with EU countries, which are considered pivotal trade and investment partners for Jordan.

Samadi highlighted a significant increase in Jordan's exports to the EU, which rose by 72.3% in the first two months of the year, reaching JD112 million, compared to JD65 million during the same period in 2025. This growth reflects improved competitiveness and better utilization of existing trade agreements. He also emphasized the role of King Abdullah II in advancing trade and investment ties and expanding access for Jordanian products within EU markets.

Looking towards the future, Samadi stated that the chamber plans to align its efforts with the Economic Modernization Vision, focusing on growth, attracting investments, and expanding exports. Ambassador Chatzisavas echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the comprehensive and strategic nature of cooperation between the EU and Jordan across various sectors, including health, education, and culture.

Chatzisavas advocated for the expansion of economic ties, particularly in the water, energy, and digital economy sectors. He announced that an investment conference later this year would serve as a platform to explore further opportunities. The EU, he stated, welcomes EuroCham Jordan's practical approach and anticipates strengthening cooperation to support the business environment and deepen economic partnerships with Jordan.
