Awqaf Minister Honors Quran Memorizers at Amman’s Al-Hadi Mosque

Amman: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Mohammad Khalaileh, presided over a ceremony on Monday to honor a group of Holy Quran memorizers who participated in a recital forum at the Al-Hadi Mosque in Amman.

According to Jordan News Agency, during the event, Khalaileh emphasized the Quran's central role in the life of the nation, stressing the necessity of raising a generation guided by Islamic scripture to confront contemporary challenges and social ills, most notably drug abuse and cybercrime. The minister stated that supporting such events aligns with the ministry's vision to support houses of worship and nurture a generation based on the values of moderation. He noted that the ceremony reflects a broader initiative to complete the reading of the Quran in mosques, following the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to strengthen mosques as centers for education and guidance.

Sami Hamoudeh, a custodian of the Al-Hadi Mosque waqf, highlighted the pivotal role mosques and memorization centers play in building moral character and ethics among the youth. Rola Al-Qunnah, also a waqf custodian, outlined the progress of the Al-Hadi Mosque's "Model Quran House," which was established in 2005 under the ministry's vision to serve as an integrated model for Quranic education.

The ceremony, attended by senior ministry officials, included spiritual recitations and concluded with the distribution of certificates and awards to the honorees.
