Ramallah: The European Union's representative to Palestine, Alexander Stutzmann, announced the launch of a new program aimed at assisting victims of attacks by extremist Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank. Stutzmann stated that the initiative seeks to provide proactive protection through volunteer groups deployed on the ground, as well as to establish a comprehensive system to enhance the safety and security of affected communities. According to Jordan News Agency, Stutzmann issued a statement describing the rise in settler violence as "a wake-up call," emphasizing that although these incidents could not be prevented, efforts will be made to ensure they are not repeated. The European Union is currently examining firm political measures alongside other steps, including the rollout of the victim support program. The announcement followed a field visit organized for the diplomatic corps accredited to the State of Palestine. The tour included participation from the EU Special Representative for the Midd le East Peace Process, Christophe Bigot, and several international ambassadors. The delegation visited the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, to assess the impact of recent settler attacks.
