Ministry and Yarmouk University Forge Social Cooperation Agreement

Amman: The Ministry of Social Development and Yarmouk University (YU) have entered into a cooperation agreement to collaborate in several social fields. Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa and YU President Dr. Malek Sharairi formalized the agreement in a ceremony attended by officials from both entities.

According to Jordan News Agency, Minister Bani Mustafa highlighted that the agreement establishes a framework for partnership in various social areas. It includes cooperation on programs offered to the ministry's target groups and joint initiatives involving the university's colleges and its Princess Basma Center for Women's Studies. The agreement aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and expertise among university students, particularly those in educational and social sciences, allowing them to gain experience through volunteer work and training at the ministry's social institutions.

Furthermore, the minister noted that the agreement seeks to professionalize social work, aiming to regulate the profession and enhance student engagement in this field. The agreement also focuses on launching joint initiatives to support women's empowerment and conducting research centered on women-based empowerment. It aims to boost economic empowerment, enhance women's participation, and implement awareness campaigns about the ministry's protection, care, and development programs.

YU President Dr. Sharairi expressed the university's pride in its cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, emphasizing that this partnership forms the basis for joint action in various academic fields. He highlighted the importance of supporting the activities of the Princess Basma Center for Jordanian Women's Studies to fulfill the agreement's terms.
