UAE Air Defenses Intercept 20 Iranian Ballistic Missiles and 311 Drones

Abu dhabi: The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that its air force successfully destroyed 20 Iranian ballistic missiles aimed at Emirati territory. Eight of these missiles fell into the sea, alongside the destruction of two cruise missiles and 311 drones, while 21 drones managed to strike civilian targets.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry's statement highlighted the air force and air defense systems' capacity to handle these threats. Since the onset of the Iranian offensive on Saturday, 165 ballistic missiles were detected launching from Iran towards the UAE. Of these, 152 were intercepted and destroyed, with the remaining 13 falling into the sea.

The statement also included that two cruise missiles were detected and neutralized. Additionally, 541 Iranian drones were launched, with 506 intercepted and destroyed, and 35 drones falling within UAE territory, leading to material damage.

The ministry noted that debris resulting from the interception process caused minor to moderate damage to several civilian facilities in various locations across the UAE.
