Amman: Minister of Transport Dr. Nidal Qatamin on Thursday engaged in discussions with the Indian Ambassador to Jordan, Manish Chauhan, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the transport sector, specifically in rail services. The talks aimed at serving mutual interests and supporting development efforts between the two nations.
According to Jordan News Agency, during the meeting at the ministry's headquarters, Qatamin highlighted the robust Jordanian-Indian relations and emphasized the importance of translating these ties into practical and sustainable cooperation. This cooperation is expected to achieve mutual benefits, particularly in vital sectors with significant economic and developmental impacts.
The minister outlined the Kingdom's plans to advance its transport system, with the railway sector identified as a strategic pillar for improving transport efficiency and bolstering supply chains. Qatamin also mentioned potential cooperation with India in planning, implementation, and knowledge transfer, along with the localization of railway-related industries in partnership with the Jordanian private sector.
The Indian ambassador, in turn, affirmed the deep-rooted bilateral relations and expressed India's readiness to enhance cooperation with Jordan in the transport domain. He highlighted India's capacity to provide technical expertise and advanced experience, particularly in rail transport and related industries.
The diplomat conveyed India's aspiration to establish effective partnerships, focusing on expertise transfer and increased collaboration between public and private sectors to achieve mutual benefits.
