Jordan-Bahrain Ties Deep-Rooted, Says Culture Minister

Manama: Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh said on Monday relations between Jordan and sisterly Bahrain are historically close, fostered by His Majesty King Abdullah II and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Jordan News Agency, the two countries pursue policies marked by moderation, balance, and tolerance. Rawashdeh made these remarks during a meeting in Manama with Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities President Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

Rawashdeh extended an invitation to Bahrain to be a guest of honor at the Amman International Book Fair. He also invited Bahrain to participate in the upcoming Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts through folklore groups that reflect Bahrain's rich history and cultural heritage.

The meeting further explored the prospects of expanding cultural cooperation between the two nations, such as the exchange of cultural weeks and days.

Rawashdeh also toured the Bahrain National Museum, where he viewed galleries and exhibits showcasing the kingdom's memory and history, which spans over 6,000 years. The museum, featuring Arab-Islamic heritage, traditional crafts, documents and manuscripts, and fine arts, was inaugurated in December 1988 and is regarded as one of the key museums in the Gulf region.
