Amman: Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef Issawi highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah II's special focus on Irbid, consistent with his attention to all governorates within the Kingdom. According to Jordan News Agency, Issawi's remarks came during a meeting held at the Royal Hashemite Court with 250 prominent figures from Irbid, as directed by the King after his recent visit to the governorate. The session, attended by His Majesty's Advisor for Tribal Affairs, Kanaan Balawi, and moderated by Irbid Governor Radwan Atoum, emphasized the King's commitment to both domestic and regional concerns, including the Palestinian cause.
Issawi underscored the King's belief that national strength is crucial to supporting broader Arab causes. He reiterated that improving Jordanians' living standards remains a top priority amid current economic challenges, advocating for balanced development across all governorates.
Specific to Irbid, Issawi detailed royal directives aimed at boosting development projects, enhancing public services, and leveraging local economic strengths. Recent Royal Initiatives have seen significant projects in education, health, infrastructure, and more, with plans for future projects continuing unabated.
Issawi also outlined the government's three-year development plan for Irbid, valued at approximately JOD700 million, which includes new schools, infrastructure projects, and a cancer treatment center at the new Princess Basma Hospital in partnership with the King Hussein Cancer Centre.
Community leaders from Irbid expressed appreciation for the Hashemite leadership's direct engagement and support for local development. They praised the recent royal visit as a demonstration of commitment to addressing citizens' needs.
Discussions included calls for improved healthcare services, infrastructure upgrades, expanded educational facilities, and enhanced economic opportunities. Issawi assured that these concerns would be prioritized and addressed in collaboration with relevant authorities.
