Riyadh: Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and head of the Jordanian side of the Saudi-Jordanian Business Council, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, emphasized the importance of transforming the long-standing Jordanian-Saudi relationship into practical economic outcomes that benefit both nations and create opportunities for the private sector and youth. Speaking at the Saudi-Jordanian Business Council convened in Riyadh, Tawfiq highlighted the historical trust and collaboration between the two countries as a model of constructive Arab cooperation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Tawfiq stressed the need for organized economic action led by the private sector to meet future aspirations. The meeting was attended by key figures including Abdulrahman Al-Thubaiti, Chairman of the Saudi side of the business council, Imad Al-Fakhri, Vice President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce, and Jordan's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Haitham Abu Al-Foul, along with business owners from both countries.
Tawfiq noted the significant expectations placed on the private sector amid global challenges, particularly technological advancements and artificial intelligence. He emphasized the role of joint committees in translating ideas into viable projects. The Jordanian delegation, the largest in the history of economic relations between the two countries, underlines the confidence of the Jordanian private sector in Saudi Arabia and the potential for joint cooperation.
Reactivating the Jordanian-Saudi Business Council office at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce was highlighted as crucial for communication and implementing meeting outcomes. Tawfiq also discussed opportunities to align Saudi Vision 2030 with Jordan's economic modernization vision, suggesting potential projects in sectors such as energy, tourism, and logistics.
Al-Thubaiti echoed the sentiment that Saudi-Jordan relations exemplify joint Arab cooperation founded on trust and shared interests. He highlighted the leadership's commitment to enhancing these ties, particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors. The current phase presents substantial opportunities for strengthening economic partnerships, supported by Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and Jordan's economic modernization vision, both of which prioritize private sector involvement in growth and development.
