Amman: Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) announced its Conformity Certificates Directorate has recently received accreditation from the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK) to issue organic product certifications. This milestone follows the directorate's fulfillment of all technical and procedural requirements, in accordance with approved global standards, which represents a step that enhances certification credibility at both the national and international levels.
According to Jordan News Agency, JSMO indicated that this accreditation culminates the directorate's efforts to develop its systems and improve its staff efficiency by implementing the best global practices in auditing and certification processes, in line with international standards. The milestone also reflects JSMO's ongoing commitment to applying the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and technical competence.
The statement added that this step would support national organic products, protect consumers, enhance their confidence in the quality and safety of local products, and strengthen trust in the directorate's organic product certificates. The JSMO said this effort would increase the competitiveness of organic products and expand export opportunities to global markets.
As part of its ongoing plan to improve conformity certificate services, JSMO stated that this achievement aligns with the best international practices and encourages investment in the Kingdom's organic products sector, which is in line with national plans for food security and economic development.
