Amman: The Senate Committee on Arab and International Affairs and Expatriates, led by Senator Hani Mulqi, held discussions on Monday with Canadian Ambassador Louis-Martin Aumais regarding the enhancement of Jordanian-Canadian relations across multiple sectors. The meeting focused on strengthening the existing strong and historical ties and expanding cooperation to benefit both countries and their peoples.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions also covered regional and international issues of mutual interest, particularly the Palestinian issue. Senator Mulqi emphasized the need to address the suffering in the Gaza Strip and urged Israel to honor its commitments. Furthermore, Mulqi highlighted the importance of utilizing Canada's expertise to address unemployment and improve the education system in Jordan, which could contribute to economic growth and enhance human capital.
Mulqi mentioned that Jordan is entering a new phase in economic and investment sectors, seeking to leverage Canadian expertise, especially in education and economic fields. Ambassador Aumais, on his part, expressed appreciation for the deep relations with Jordan and reiterated Canada's commitment to strengthening cooperation in sectors such as economy, investment, and technological education.
The discussions underscored Jordan's significant role in promoting security and stability under the leadership of King Abdullah II. Committee members also highlighted the importance of promoting expertise exchange, particularly in the tourism sector, to support sustainable development and enhance the partnership between Jordan and Canada.
