Youth Ministry Launches Winter 2026 Al Hussein Work and Construction Camps

Amman: The Ministry of Youth on Sunday launched the 2026 winter edition of the Al Hussein Work and Construction Camps for the first time during the winter season. Director of Youth Centers and Scouts, Rajai Al-Qaqaqa, highlighted that the camps aim to engage young people during school and university breaks, develop their skills, and instill values of loyalty, belonging, and responsibility. These efforts are designed to enable participants to become active contributors to their communities and interact with peers from different governorates.

According to Jordan News Agency, the camps, running from January 17 to February 5, target 300 youths aged 15-30. They include an adventure and challenge camp at Zarqa Youth Hostel, a scouting and guiding camp at Jerash Youth Hostel, and a political and civic participation camp at Amman Youth Hostel. Scouting activities are intended to foster volunteerism, creativity, and leadership. The adventure camp features fitness exercises, marches, night hikes, obstacle courses, volunteer work, traditional games, competitions, and awareness lectures.

The political participation camp aims to build youths' capacities for engagement in political life and decision-making through dialogue sessions on enhancing youth involvement in governance. The camps are conducted in partnership with the Ministries of Environment and Political and Parliamentary Affairs, the Independent Election Commission, the Public Security Directorate/Gendarmerie and Anti-Narcotics Department, and the Jordanian Association for Boy Scouts and Girl Guides.
