Amman: Exports from the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) experienced a significant rise of 9.2% last year, demonstrating a notable expansion into non-traditional African, European, and non-Arab Asian markets.
According to Jordan News Agency, obtained by "Petra," the chamber's industrial exports reached JD7.49 billion last year, compared to JD6.86 billion in 2024.
All industrial sectors saw growth in exports during this period, except for the construction industries, which experienced a slight dip of 1%. The food industries, however, recorded the largest increase at 17.5%. In 2025, four countries-India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq-accounted for more than half of the chamber's exports, totaling JD4.140 billion, compared to JD4.119 billion in 2024.
Exports to India climbed by 20.3%, reaching JD1.211 billion last year, while exports to Saudi Arabia rose by 6.7%, totaling JD855 million. Exports to Iraq also increased by 4.5%, amounting to JD1.016 billion. Conversely, exports to the United States fell by 9.1%, decreasing to JD1.217 billion, yet the US remained a key destination for ACI exports.
A noteworthy surge was seen in exports to Syria, which increased by 268.8%, reaching approximately JD270 million. Geographically, Arab countries led with JD3.554 billion in exports, followed by non-Arab Asian nations at JD1.759 billion, and North American countries at JD1.270 billion. Exports to the European Union were approximately JD507 million, while exports to other European nations totaled JD242 million.
African countries received exports worth JD40 million, South American countries JD66 million, and other countries JD51 million. The chamber's exports spanned various sectors: mining industries at JD1.699 billion, chemicals and cosmetics at JD1.420 billion, and engineering, electrical, and IT at JD1.258 billion.
Exports in the food, beverage, agricultural, and livestock sectors reached JD986 million, while pharmaceuticals and medical supplies totaled JD754 million, and leather and textiles reached JD527 million. The remaining exports were distributed across sectors such as plastics and rubber industries (JD315 million), packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies (JD278 million), construction (JD132 million), and wood and furniture industries (JD22 million).
The Amman Chamber of Industry, established in 1962, currently encompasses 8,600 member industrial establishments, employing 159,000 workers, with a total capital of approximately JD5 billion.
