Amman: The tourism sector in Jordan experienced significant growth in 2025, as evidenced by a 7.6% increase in tourism revenue, reaching $7.790 billion. This marks a notable recovery from the previous year, which saw a 2.3% decline with revenues at $7.239 billion.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) released preliminary data indicating a strong performance in December 2025 alone, with a 15.1% rise in tourism revenue, amounting to $630 million. This is a substantial increase compared to December 2024, which recorded an 8.0% rise to $547.2 million.
The surge in revenue was largely attributed to a 15.3% increase in tourist arrivals. The data highlighted significant contributions from European tourists, whose numbers rose by 39.8%, followed by Asian tourists at 32.7%, American tourists at 18.8%, and Arab tourists with a 4.0% increase. Tourists from other nationalities contributed to a 32.6% rise in revenue.
The report also noted that revenue from Jordanian expatriates remained stable throughout the year. Additionally, spending on tourism abroad also grew by 9.1% in December 2025, totaling $161.4 million. For the entire year, outbound tourism spending rose by 5.8%, reaching $2.048 billion.
