Amman: The Senate's Jordan-S.Korea Friendship Committee, chaired by Senator Ahmad Khudari, convened with a delegation from South Korea's National Assembly, led by Chair of the Korea-Jordan Parliamentary Friendship Committee MP Cho Eun-hee, to discuss cooperation prospects and bolster bilateral relations across multiple sectors, particularly focusing on parliamentary collaboration.
According to Jordan News Agency, Khudari emphasized the deep-rooted Jordan-S.Korea relations and their historical foundations based on mutual respect. He advocated for further development in areas such as investment, tourism, parliamentary engagement, culture, and health, while also calling for expanded economic and industrial cooperation, as well as advancements in information technology.
Khudari highlighted ongoing efforts by His Majesty King Abdullah II to promote regional security, stability, and peace, and to strengthen Jordan's international relations for the benefit of its people. He also noted the King's dedication to defending the Palestinian cause and safeguarding Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites under Hashemite custodianship.
MP Cho responded by praising the distinguished level of bilateral relations and affirmed South Korea's commitment to expanding cooperation with Jordan, especially in the areas of economy, education, technology, and investment. She acknowledged Jordan's pivotal role in regional security and stability under King Abdullah II's leadership, and reiterated South Korea's support for the two-state solution.
The committee members emphasized the importance of attracting South Korean investment to Jordan, highlighting the Kingdom's safe and stable environment, along with legislation and guarantees that can enhance bilateral cooperation. They also stressed the importance of promoting Jordan as a promising tourism and investment destination, while seeking to strengthen trade, technological, technical, and educational cooperation.
