Amman: From the stands of football stadiums, where a mother would watch her daughter play, began the story of Hind Al-Masri, a Jordanian photographer who transformed her hobby into a professional career. Through determination and persistence, Al-Masri has achieved national and international recognition, being selected among the top 100 personalities of 2025.
According to Jordan News Agency, the honor was conferred under the supervision of the Elite Academy for Physical and Mental Sports Training. This non-profit organization supports creators and distinguished individuals in Arab and global communities. Al-Masri received the title of Personality of the Year 2025 for her professional and impactful achievements in the media landscape.
Al-Masri shared that her journey in photography started with her daughter Marah, a football player. She attended matches and observed sports photographers capturing crucial moments. Over time, she developed a desire to participate not merely as a spectator, but as a photographer documenting events through her lens.
As her daughter advanced in football, Al-Masri's passion for photography grew. Motivated by her daughter's nomination for club training at age 16, she focused more on sports photography, using football stadiums as her primary gateway into the field.
Her initial professional steps involved photographing championship ceremonies, particularly women's tournaments, with her work appearing in newspapers. She expanded her portfolio to include various locations, and her photos increasingly featured in the press.
Crucial to her development was the support of photojournalist Saher Qadara, who taught her photography basics and guided her in choosing equipment. She acquired her first camera in 2020 and later upgraded her lens to meet sports photography demands.
Al-Masri's career reached a milestone in 2025 when she was assigned to photograph global and continental wrestling championships, including the under-17 World Championship and the Senior Asian Championship. She also covered national and club-level tournaments in various sports.
Her coverage of boxing tournaments was notable, with significant support from the Jordanian Boxing Federation, allowing her to document all aspects of competitions. She expressed gratitude for the trust and recognition she received, which motivates her to excel.
Being chosen among the top 100 personalities of 2025 provided additional motivation for Al-Masri. She praised public feedback on her work and expressed her aspiration to become an official photographer for the Boxing Federation.
Al-Masri's experience also includes photographing national football team matches, which she described as carrying special significance due to the team's symbolic value. She emphasized the rich experience of capturing fans' reactions and moments on the field.
She commended the Jordan Football Association for promoting young talent and noted that her children's involvement in sports supports her photography career.
