Amman: Minister of Youth Raed Adwan and Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman discussed the Ministry of Youth's action plan within the executive program of the national cleanliness strategy and efforts to curb random littering as part of the follow-up to joint meetings between the two sides in light of the outcomes of the preparatory committee meeting for the executive program for 2026-2027.
According to Jordan News Agency, during the meeting held at the Ministry of Youth, Minister Adwan presented the ministry's planned programs. These initiatives include awareness sessions aimed at youth, volunteers, and activists engaged in climate and environmental work. The sessions will also target sports clubs and various segments of society. The plan encompasses volunteer programs and campaigns to be implemented during sports events and at youth centers. Key initiatives under this plan include the "Green Visions and a Prosperous Future" program focused on solid waste collection and the "Sawn for Climate Action" program. Additionally, education and training initiatives, the Green Youth Center, environmental entrepreneurship forums in business incubators and youth corners, environmental competitions, the formation of environmental volunteer teams, and the organization of environmental camps are part of Al-Hussein Camps for Work and Construction 2026.
Minister Adwan highlighted that the ministry will execute its programs during the winter holiday to utilize young people's free time by conducting volunteer cleanliness campaigns across all youth directorates in the governorates. These efforts will focus on areas identified by the Ministry of Environment, as well as tourist and archaeological sites.
Minister Suleiman commended the Ministry of Youth's executive plan, emphasizing its focus on youth as the largest segment of society and the main driver of sustainable development pathways. He underscored the importance of raising awareness and enhancing community participation, pointing out that the executive program of the cleanliness strategy is an integrated national program and a national responsibility shared by official and national institutions, private sector institutions, mosques, churches, and youth and volunteer organizations.
The meeting was attended by Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment Omar Arabiyat and several directors from relevant departments in both ministries.
