EU Demands Removal of Barriers to Gaza Humanitarian Aid

Brussels: The European Union on Wednesday emphasized the urgent need to eliminate all barriers that are obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

According to Jordan News Agency, European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib expressed concerns on her X account about Israeli occupation plans that aim to hinder the operations of international humanitarian organizations in Gaza. These actions, she warned, could significantly impede the delivery of life-saving assistance to the region.

Lahbib further clarified the EU's stance, insisting that the current laws regarding the registration of non-governmental organizations should not be applied in a way that restricts humanitarian access. She emphasized that all obstacles must be removed to ensure that aid reaches those in dire need. Lahbib also pointed out that international humanitarian law is unequivocal in its mandate to facilitate the delivery of aid to affected populations.
