Amman: Minister of Youth Raed Adwan on Sunday chaired a meeting of the national committee dedicated to researching and developing the framework for privatizing football clubs. The committee comprises key figures such as Jordan Football Association Deputy President Marwan Juma, Secretary-General Samar Nassar, Licensing Committee Chair Ramzi Nozha, and representatives from various ministries and the Greater Amman Municipality.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting focused on devising mechanisms for the general framework of the football club privatization project, with an emphasis on implementing global best practices. The initiative aims to enhance the football ecosystem, stimulate private-sector investment in sports, and realize the Royal directives for the development of the Kingdom’s sports sector.
Committee members highlighted the need to empower clubs by implementing robust financial and administrative governance. They also discussed various privatization models and the development of necessary legislation, with the objective of amending the Clubs and Youth Entities Regulation. The committee aims to establish standards that will govern sports activities within clubs, fostering a more sustainable and professional sports environment.
