Amman: Chairperson of the Board of the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj), Fadi Qutaishat, praised Jordan’s progress in the 2025 IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking, as the Kingdom advanced six places to rank 44th globally and 7th among Arab countries.
According to Jordan News Agency, Qutaishat highlighted that this achievement reflects His Majesty King Abdullah II’s leadership and the guidance of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II in driving digital transformation and reinforcing Jordan’s status as a regional hub for innovation and technology.
Qutaishat noted that the progress is in line with the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV), a national framework aimed at stimulating growth and enhancing competitiveness. This vision complements the efforts of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in implementing strategic programs and initiatives.
He also emphasized the role of the National Council for Future Technology in developing policies to accelerate digital transformation and technology adoption. This includes contributions from the National Cybersecurity Center and other partners across public and private sectors and academia.
Locally, Qutaishat pointed out the positive outcomes in education, scientific research, digital skills development, and technological infrastructure, which illustrate the cooperation between public and private sectors and state institutions in enabling the digital economy and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship.
Intaj remains a strategic partner by supporting Jordanian companies in technology and digital transformation to enhance their competitiveness globally and regionally. The association also plays a vital role in providing data and insights for the digital and communications technology sector, facilitating evidence-based decision-making for policymakers and the private sector.
To sustain this progress, Qutaishat urged continued investment in innovation, digital education, and infrastructure, aiming to build a knowledge-based economy driven by Jordanian youth, in alignment with the Royal Vision for a prosperous digital future for Jordan.
