Amman: The University of Jordan Hospital initiated its observance of World Sterilization Week on Monday, uniting medical, nursing, technical, and administrative staff to commemorate the annual event held on October 9.
According to Jordan News Agency, the theme for the week, “Improving Indicators to Raise Sterilization Performance Efficiency,” aims to increase awareness among healthcare workers about the crucial role of sterilization in patient safety. The initiative also seeks to promote the effective application of quality indicators in the field of sterilization.
The four-day event includes a series of lectures and workshops organized in collaboration with supporting companies. These sessions are designed to review global best practices and performance measurement methods in sterilization.
In a statement, Hospital Director General Dr. Nader Bsoul emphasized the essential role of sterilization in ensuring patient safety and enhancing the quality of medical services. He highlighted the need to improve the efficiency of sterilization units and develop staff skills in this critical area.
Dr. Bsoul pointed out that the hospital administration prioritizes sterilization as part of its efforts to elevate health service levels and ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. He also stressed the importance of coordination between the Sterilization Division and the Infection Control Office to maintain adherence to the highest standards of quality and safety.
