Amman: The UN Security Council on Thursday is set to hold a closed consultation session to discuss the situation in Yemen. Later in the evening, the Council will also convene another closed session to review the latest report by the UN Secretary-General on the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the occupied Golan.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions on Yemen come amid ongoing concerns over the country’s humanitarian crisis and political instability. The Security Council aims to address these issues and explore potential solutions to support peace and stability in the region.
In addition to Yemen, the UN Security Council will turn its attention to the occupied Golan, where the UNDOF has been monitoring the ceasefire between Israel and Syria. The review of the Secretary-General’s report will provide insights into the current situation and the activities of the peacekeeping force in maintaining stability in the area.
