King Abdullah II Engages in Strategic Talks with Syria’s President in New York

New york: His Majesty King Abdullah II met with Syria President Ahmed Al Sharaa in New York on Tuesday. During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly and attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, His Majesty reiterated Jordan’s support for Syria’s efforts to maintain its security, stability, and sovereignty.

According to Jordan News Agency, the King emphasised the need to step up efforts to end the war on Gaza, alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip, and halt the escalation in the West Bank. The meeting underscored the importance of regional cooperation and dialogue to address ongoing conflicts and humanitarian issues affecting the region.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh also attended the meeting, highlighting the significance of the discussions and the commitment of Jordanian leadership to foster peace and stability in the region.
