Amman: Arab and international capitals have lauded Jordan’s significant role in formulating a roadmap aimed at resolving the ongoing crisis in Syria’s southern Sweida Governorate. These efforts have been acknowledged as a testament to Jordan’s steadfast commitment to promoting security and stability in Syria and the broader region, contributing to a consensus between the Syrian Arab Republic and the United States of America.
According to Jordan News Agency, several countries have expressed their approval of the Syrian announcement, emphasizing that this development serves as a pivotal entry point for ensuring security, civil peace, and fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has commended the Syrian Arab Republic’s announcement of the roadmap, recognizing the efforts made by both the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the United States of America.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs echoed this sentiment, viewing the agreement as an essential step towards establishing civil peace and bolstering regional security and stability. Bahrain reaffirmed its steadfast position on supporting Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, as well as its commitment to regional and international efforts aimed at achieving peace and meeting the aspirations of the Syrian people for stability and sustainable development.
Similarly, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed support for the roadmap, which was mutually agreed upon by Syria, Jordan, and the United States. Qatar also welcomed the agreement, considering it a significant step that embodies a collective will to shape a peaceful future for Syria and enhance regional security and peace.
The United Arab Emirates has applauded the Syrian government’s announcement and the collaborative efforts of Jordan and the United States. The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the importance of de-escalation to protect Syria and its unity, ensuring the safety of its citizens and upholding state sovereignty and the rule of law.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, expressed his approval of the roadmap announcement, recognizing its potential to enhance security and peace in Syria. He praised the efforts of Jordan and the United States in facilitating this agreement.
