Amman: Minister of Youth Raed Adwan and Minister of State for Public Sector Development Badria Al Balbisi engaged in discussions on mechanisms to enhance the Ministry of Youth’s performance and its affiliated youth centers during a meeting on Sunday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting was convened following directives from the Prime Minister to initiate a comprehensive project aimed at restructuring the ministry. This project involves a thorough review of the current situation, evaluation of human resources, and a revision of the ministry’s organizational structure.
Adwan highlighted the necessity of updating the administrative framework of the ministry and its youth centers, emphasizing the development of strategic and operational plans. The focus is on improving youth centers and the programs and projects across all directorates, which will enable the ministry to effectively fulfill its designated tasks, clarify administrative responsibilities, and enhance service quality for young people. He noted that this initiative aligns with the public sector modernization roadmap and its executive plan.
Al Balbisi pointed out that the modernization roadmap extends beyond traditional restructuring, which usually centers on revising organizational units, tasks, and staffing. Instead, it focuses on strategic directions, future operational models, and designing organizational structures and human resources plans in accordance with these strategies. The objective is to establish a flexible structure that is responsive to the ministry’s needs, augment its capacity to achieve goals, and develop staff capabilities for youth engagement.
She underscored the significance of collaboration between the Ministry of Youth and the Service and Public Administration Commission (SPAC) in implementing the project. This collaboration could serve as a model for restructuring all government ministries and departments.
SPAC president Fayez Nahar assured that the commission would offer the necessary technical and advisory support to ensure the project meets the highest quality standards while maintaining its oversight role, thereby enhancing the ministry’s ability to serve Jordanian youth effectively.
