Berlin: The German government on Wednesday expressed opposition to the escalation of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. This stance follows Israel’s approval of a plan to take control of Gaza City and its order to call up approximately 60,000 reservists for the operation.
According to Jordan News Agency, government spokesman Steffen Maier conveyed at a press conference that Berlin finds it “increasingly difficult to understand how these measures will lead to the release of all hostages or to a ceasefire.”
