Amman: Minister of Transport, Dr. Nidal Qatamin, stressed the importance of expediting completion of licensing and operation procedures for Amman Civil Airport (ACA) within the specified timeframe. The minister’s remarks came during an expanded meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters, attended by Chairman of Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Captain Haitham Misto, and other officials from relevant authorities.
According to Jordan News Agency, Qatamin stated that the project represents a national priority that requires the highest level of follow-up. He highlighted that operating the airport will enhance the Kingdom’s position as a major hub for air traffic and aviation activities in the region and contribute to enhancing competitiveness and raising efficiency of the civil aviation infrastructure.
Qatamin called for increasing stakeholders’ efforts and coordinating work to overcome potential obstacles and adhere to a clear timetable that ensures completion of all licensing and operation phases without delay. He also emphasized the need for regularly following up on implementation and sending detailed reports on progress rates to the ministry.
Furthermore, Qatamin urged the relevant authorities to provide all technical and operational requirements in accordance with international standards, ensuring the airport’s readiness and sustainability as a major contributor to the air transport sector. During the meeting, the minister reviewed all the airport’s technical and administrative details, while participants presented a comprehensive vision on licensing requirements and the necessary preparation plans to resume the airport’s operation.
