House Foreign Affairs Committee Condemns Netanyahu’s Recent Remarks

Amman: The Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday condemned recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claiming the annexation of land from Jordan and Egypt, describing them as a dangerous provocation aimed at destabilizing regional security, sowing discord, and diverting attention from Israel’s colonial crimes and schemes against the Palestinian people.

According to Jordan News Agency, the committee issued a press statement emphasizing that any infringement on Jordan’s sovereignty or national security is a red line that will be met with full firmness and strength. This position aligns with the Kingdom’s historic and unwavering stance in defending its territory, safeguarding its people’s rights, and providing unconditional support to the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and independence.

The committee further highlighted that the remarks reflect the continuation of Israeli policies that disregard international law and UN resolutions, reject peace, and insist on imposing facts on the ground through force.

It underscored that Jordan’s leadership, government, and people hold the occupation authorities fully responsible for the consequences of such statements and reckless policies. The committee also called on the international community to take a firm stand to halt these practices immediately and to work earnestly towards ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
