Amman: The Director General of the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), Sufian Batayneh, announced that Jordan has reached a new level of electricity demand, with peak hours hitting a record high of 4,700 megawatts on Monday. This figure marks the highest electricity load ever recorded in the Kingdom’s history.
According to Jordan News Agency, Batayneh emphasized the importance of cooperation among all stakeholders in the national electricity system. He highlighted that contributions towards rationalizing electricity consumption play a crucial role in ensuring the stability of the network and preventing power outages.
Batayneh further explained that the current situation necessitates collective efforts to manage electricity use, particularly during peak hours from 6 to 9 pm. Such measures are vital to guarantee the continuous supply of electricity and the stability of the national grid.
