Israeli Ministers and Legislators Advocate for Jewish Presence in Nablus

Nablus: Ministers in Israel’s war cabinet, alongside many from the ruling coalition and Knesset members, have signed a document advocating for the restoration of a Jewish presence at Joseph’s Tomb in the city of Nablus, located in the north of the occupied West Bank. This move comes 25 years after the Israeli army withdrew from the site at the start of the second Palestinian uprising, also known as the intifada.

According to Jordan News Agency, the document, which was signed by 62 ministers and members of the Knesset, was spearheaded by Knesset member Zvi Sukkot from the Religious Zionism Party. Yossi Dagan, a prominent figure in the Israeli settler movement and head of the Shomron Regional Council, also played a leading role in this initiative. The plan aims to establish a permanent Jewish presence at the site, with representatives of the military expected to present their strategy for this effort tomorrow.
