Jordan’s Army Chief Stresses Operational Readiness to Counter Threats

Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Hunaiti, emphasized that enhancing readiness and strengthening coordination among the formations and units of the Jordan Armed Forces constitute a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom’s operational capability to counter any potential threats efficiently and effectively. He made these remarks on Tuesday while touring elite military units stationed near the Jaber border region. He was received by the Assistant Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for Operations and Training, the Commander of the Eastern Military Region, and several senior officers.

According to Jordan News Agency, during the tour, Major General Hunaiti was briefed by the unit commander on the field tasks and operational duties performed in the area, including the security measures in place to safeguard the border and coordination mechanisms with other military and security agencies as part of an integrated operational system. He met with personnel from various divisions and conveyed the greetings of His Majesty the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Hunaiti expressed his pride in the discipline and professionalism of the armed forces and their high level of preparedness in responding to the challenges posed by the current strategic environment.

He underscored the importance of continued specialized training, raising technical and logistical readiness, and advancing field operations tools to ensure that deployed units remain capable and effective in executing their missions. The visit is part of a series of field tours through which the army chief assesses the operational performance of frontline units, monitors their readiness, and recognizes their vital role in safeguarding the nation’s security and stability.
