Amman: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday voiced deep concern over renewed Israeli airstrikes targeting Yemen’s Hodeidah Port, which occurred while a UN mission was patrolling northern sections of the facility.
According to Jordan News Agency, Guterres called on all parties to immediately cease all attacks, stressing that international law including international humanitarian law must be respected and upheld at all times, particularly the obligation to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The Secretary-General reiterated his alarm over the risk of further regional escalation, urging all involved parties to halt military operations and exercise maximum restraint.
