Amman: Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa met with Spanish Ambassador to Jordan Miguel de Lucas to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in shared areas of social development.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting focused on outlining the ministry’s key programs targeting vulnerable groups, alongside recent expansions in care, protection, and development services. Bani Mustafa emphasized the importance of partnerships with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and the European Union, which are pivotal in implementing social programs in alignment with Jordan’s Social Protection Strategy for 2025-2033. These initiatives are designed to support the country’s political, economic, and administrative modernization visions and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The minister highlighted national efforts resulting in the adoption and amendment of laws aimed at protecting children, women, and families, such as the Family Protection Law and the Child Rights Law. She also underscored efforts to address violence by emphasizing the “one-stop service model,” which provides legal, psychological, and medical services to women survivors of violence. Bani Mustafa called for expanded access to this model throughout the Kingdom to ensure timely and effective support.
