Amman: Ambassador of Japan to Jordan, Asari Hideki, attended a handover ceremony of the “READ JAPAN PROJECT,” a book donation project held at Al Hussein Technical University (HTU).
According to Jordan News Agency, HTU President, Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, along with the university’s faculty and officials from the JICA Jordan Office, also attended the ceremony. The “READ JAPAN PROJECT” aims to promote interest and understanding of Japan by donating English language books about the country to libraries and research institutions worldwide.
Since 2009, five institutions in Jordan have benefited from this initiative, with HTU being the sixth recipient. The project is supported by the “Nippon Foundation” and implemented by the “Tokyo Foundation,” which is affiliated with the “Nippon Foundation.”
In his remarks, Ambassador Asari expressed his hope that the 129 books donated will help students and faculty members of HTU gain a deeper understanding of Japan. He also acknowledged HTU’s contributions to academic and cultural collaboration between Japan and Jordan.
Prof. Al-Hinti expressed gratitude for the donation and emphasized HTU’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and cultural awareness. This event marks another step in strengthening academic and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
