Irbid Family Returns Home After Structural Safety Confirmed

Irbid: A family that was evacuated earlier Sunday from a residence in Irbid Camp has been allowed to return home after authorities determined that only the kitchen on the second floor posed a structural risk, Governor Radwan Al-Atoum said.

According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Atoum stated that the building’s main structure was deemed safe and free of cracks or damage, based on a report by the Public Safety Committee.

The property owner has signed a pledge to immediately remove the unsafe kitchen section. The removal is scheduled to take place Monday, following a final technical inspection by the safety committee, he added. Authorities had issued an immediate precautionary evacuation order after receiving a report about wall cracks, which raised concerns among residents about the integrity of the building.

Al-Atoum emphasized that public safety remains a top priority for the governorate and that swift precautionary measures will be taken whenever necessary to protect lives and property.
