JSMO Aims to Enhance Quality of Jordanian Products and Expand Export Markets

Amman: The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) is intensifying efforts to enhance the quality of Jordanian products and unlock new export markets in alignment with the Economic Modernization Vision, according to JSMO Director General Abeer AlZuhair. Speaking during a ceremony to award the Jordan Quality Mark and the Jordan Halal Certificate to companies that met the required standards, AlZuhair emphasized the organization’s commitment to expanding mutual recognition agreements for its certifications.

According to Jordan News Agency, AlZuhair highlighted the recent recognition of Jordan’s Halal certificates by Malaysia’s Department of Islamic Development as a milestone that strengthens Jordan’s global position in the Halal industry. AlZuhair noted that Jordanian companies’ eagerness to obtain certification reflects their dedication to quality, which helps preserve the reputation of Jordanian products globally and boosts local demand.

Company representatives praised the professionalism of JSMO audit teams, whose evaluations preceded the certifications. They stressed that the certifications will support their access to new international markets, and reaffirmed JSMO’s pivotal role in national economic growth through its quality infrastructure services standards development, inspection, metrology, testing, accreditation, and conformity certification.

Recipients of the Jordan Quality Mark included Al-Moasron for Woven Bags Industry, Philadelphia Solar, Al-Jabal Al-Abyad Water Purification and Bottling, Arab Potash Company, National Cable and Wire Manufacturing Company, and Arab Falcons for Electronic Industries. The Halal Certificate was awarded to Dar Al-Ghitha’ Public Shareholding Company (Nutridar) and Zaidan Al-Ammouri and Sons – Al-Salam Mills Company.
