Amman: Four siblings died and two others were injured in a fire that broke out in a mosque ground-floor apartment in Amman’s Abu Alanda neighborhood, as reported by the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
According to Jordan News Agency, the tragic incident involved firefighting and ambulance crews from the East Amman Civil Defense Department, who responded to the blaze. The fire resulted in the deaths of the children, aged 5-10 years, due to severe burns.
The spokesperson further explained that two other children from the same family, aged 2 and 3, suffered respiratory distress after inhaling fumes. The firefighting teams worked diligently to control the fire, while the ambulance crews administered first aid to the injured and transported them, along with the bodies, to Al-Tutunji Government Hospital and Al-Bashir Government Hospital.
The official confirmed that the injured are currently receiving medical treatment, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
