Hussein Irbid Clinch Historic Title in Final-Day Thriller – Wehdat’s Hopes Crushed as Ramtha Hold the Line

Amman: It was a title race for the ages in the Jordan Pro League as Hussein Irbid roared to their second-ever league crown with a statement 4-1 win over Shabab Al Urdun on Saturday at Amman International Stadium. The final-day showdown saw Hussein Irbid finish on 53 points, just one ahead of Wehdat, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Ramtha at King Abdullah II Stadium in Qweismeh.

According to Jordan News Agency, the drama was intense as Wehdat appeared poised to claim the title, relying on a potential slip from Ramtha. However, Ramtha maintained their defensive stance, ensuring Wehdat’s aspirations were dashed and leaving Hussein Irbid to celebrate their victory.

The final whistle marked a turning point for Hussein Irbid supporters, sparking widespread celebrations. Fans organized bus parades, launched fireworks, and filled the streets with yellow as they made their way to the club headquarters, commemorating a long-awaited triumph.

Meanwhile, the conclusion of the season spelled disappointment for Al-Sareeh, Shabab Aqaba, Ma’an, and Mughayir Al-Sarhan, who faced relegation after a challenging campaign.
