Gaza City: The Government Media Office in Gaza reported on Monday that the ongoing blockade and closure of border crossings have led to a significant deterioration in health conditions, resulting in a sharp increase in acute malnutrition cases, particularly among children and infants.
According to Jordan News Agency, the office disclosed that over 65,000 cases of severe malnutrition have been recorded in the remaining hospitals and medical centers. This is out of a total of 1.1 million children in Gaza who are experiencing daily hunger. The office condemned what it termed as an organized crime by Israeli forces against unarmed civilians, especially children, accusing Israel of using starvation and thirst as tactical weapons of war, violating international and humanitarian laws.
The Government Media Office in Gaza held Israel entirely responsible for the escalating humanitarian crisis, which endangers the lives of hundreds of thousands of children, women, and the elderly due to the scarcity of food, medicine, and water. It also criticized the international community and its institutions for their silence and failure to take action to hold Israeli leaders accountable.
The office called for the immediate reopening of all crossings to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid, including food supplements, medicines, and medical supplies, particularly for children and patients, to prevent a catastrophic humanitarian collapse.
